I’m grateful for my days in Major League Baseball...

I feel like I’ve lived every kid’s dream of playing in the big leagues.  I feel so fortunate to have played in a game with such great tradition, great teamwork and wonderful people. It has been a storybook tale, even for me. Winning the Cy Young Award , not once but twice, was more than a dream come true.

My Family, the teams I’ve played with like the Royals, the Mets, Rockies  and the Red Sox and the teams I’ve played against all helped me become who I am today.

I believe that it is very important to give back to the fans and give back to the community.  I have received a lifetime of opportunities and memories and I would like to be a part of giving a lifetime of opportunities and memories to those in need.

Wherever I have gone, people have been very generous with their time and their money. By starting The Bret Saberhagen Make A Difference Foundation, I will raise money to help youth organizations, charities and other worthy causes.
